On the way to the 21st Century the public will to have their tax dollars spent on maintaining military might has been lost in Great Britain, and almost abandoned here in the U.S., thanks to the Clinton's hate for the military.
The result of loosing a military power that is respected and feared by all potential adversaries is evident in the capture in the recent past of the fifteen Royal Marine and British sailors by the Iranians.
Their capture was unlawful and unprovoked, and the failure to release them despite diplomatic efforts is testament to Iran's attitude toward Britain's lack of military strength.
In the days of the Great Royal Navy and "gun-boat" diplomacy this would never have happened.
Winston Churchill would not have allowed this hostage situation, and the parading of the British military through the streets and on television is positive evidence of the lack of respect for Great Britain's ability to do anything about it!
For those who don't know what happened the following is an encapsulated version of the events.
A British frigate was in the waters off Iraq and Iran to intercept smugglers of weapons to Iraq. The 14 men and one woman were dispatched in small rigid rubber boats with only side arms and rifles to board a small ship suspected of smuggling weapons.
The two boats were supported by one helicopter overhead. But-- the group was intercepted by six fast Iranian heavily armed gunboats with superior fire power and personnel. Before the 15 could fire their weapons to protect themselves from the Iranians they had to be fired upon. This ridiculous "rule of engagement" is mandatory for all military under the control and command of the U.N. Aside from the fact that the first fire from an enemy might kill some or all the British. This is no way to send soldiers or sailors into a potential battle if you intend to win!
The Iranians forced the 15 to surrender without firing a shot. This action was questioned by Major General John Thompson of the British Army. He described the whole affair as a "*ock-up" and asked why the 15 did not fire their weapons. It is said when senior military personnel send troops into battle without knowing the "rules of engagement".
This is also why the United States should never allow our fine troops to be commanded by the UN or any other World Organisation.
The 15 military personnel are still captive despite Britain's representative to the UN request for support from this "cesspool"on the Hudson, to pass a Security Resolution condemning the abductors and demand an immediate release. The resolution was killed by the negative votes of China and Russia!
The once powerful British are now hoping for the release of the "15" by sending a diplomatic "promise to never enter Iranian waters without Iran's permission. They should send a threat to deliver a cruise missile from one of their submarines that I am sure is in the waters nearby. But the "Brits" won't, because their will to fight has been lost. The same can be said about most of Europe.
Thus, we are alone in this fight, and the people had better realize this before the laws we must obey are written by Sharia Imams, not our Congress.

Examples of just a few are the Supreme Court ruling on "eminent domain" that disallows individual property rights to allow municipalities to condemn private property to build great tax earning projects.
Politically correct thought police and laws passed by Constitutionally -defiant Federal judges have remove the right to freedom of speech. Even though this right allows anyone to burn Our Flag. The most disturbing fact is that this Country was founded on the premise of no taxation without representation, and no repressive and excess taxation.
Today we have a federal government that employs 4 million people, and no telling how many millions work for State and Local Governments. All of these peoples salaries and benefits, very lucrative in most cases, are paid by taxpayer hard work in the form of taxation. The estimated cost to pay just Federal employees is close to 3 TRILLION dollars!
Lastly, we have too many Americans who believe that the Federal Government is there to take care of all their needs from cradle to grave. They embrace the idea of a welfare socialist state.
This with the failure to enforce immigration laws and secure our borders has led to millions of people now among us that neither recognize nor intend to obey the laws of the land.

The 20 million dollars tacked on to the recently passed Congressional defense spending bill for PORK is just one example of his principle.It is hard to realize we have allowed so much of our individual freedom to be taken away from us when you think this Grand "Experiment" began with the "Boston Tea party" over an excessive tax on tea!

Recently in Berlin the Foreign Minister of Iran gave an interview with the German News media. In his presentation he said, "Iran has been in conflict with the U.S. for the past 28 years. But we do not fear a military attack from them ,because the United States cannot afford another crisis for it's taxpayers." Note please. He didn't even refer to US as citizens!
When asked if he would meet with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and shake her hand. His response was illuminating. He said: "I am a devout Muslim and adhere to Islamic principles and will NOT shake her hand!

The Democratic majority, less Senators Lieberman and Mark Pryor,with the votes of two RINOs, Senators Hagel and Gordon Smith, narrowly passed the modern day equivalent of the 1938 Munich Pact.
This pact signed by Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and the Dictator Adolf Hitler was the equivalent of what the Senate did yesterday.
By giving into Hitlers demands Mr. Chamberlain showed the same cowardice that our Democratic controlled Senate showed yesterday.
Rather than recognize that Radical Islamists have declared a state of war against the Western World, especially the U.S.A..
The "Party of defeat" has set a date certain for Our Troops retreat from the war against terrorism.

The sad thing about this dastardly Bill is that it was filled with Pork promised to the constituents who sent these leftist Democrats to Congress. There is 3 million dollars in aid to the sugar cane farmers, and 2 million for the university of Vermont. The "biggie"is to protect those who refuse to support the Mission of our troops, but have tacked on to the Bill one hundred million dollars for security at the next political conventions. There security is more important than our troops apparently.
Even more troubling is the ease that Democratic majority member Harry Ried flat out lied about the "pork". He said:" that all the spending is for emergencies." I wonder what emergency is going on at the University of Vermont?
America has just witnessed the worst example of Congressional partisanship and hate for the thought of Victory in Iraq. Cindy Sheehan should be happy, but nobody else who calls himself or herself an American can possibly feel it is anything but betrayal of the brave men and women who have volunteered to put their lives on the line so we can live in freedom. Last night while talking with my eldest son he mentioned an idea which provoked me to write today's blog. He said that President Bush has been trying for over six years to get bipartisanship with the Democrats to no avail. I agree, and it is time for bold initiatives if we want to save our beloved Country from the domination of secular relativists.
It is common knowledge that Vice-President Richard Cheney is not in the best of health, and could in all probability not endure the rigors of the presidency should the occasion arise where he assumed that lofty office.
Therefore, I am recommending that President Bush ask Mr. Cheney step down from his Vice-Presidency so that President Bush can appoint a well known and respected healthy individual.
Before the leftists who read this celebrate the fact that a Blogger known for his ultra-conservative viewpoint is recommending a man hated by the left step down. Read on!
There have been numerous uttering and proclamations from Senator Lieberman that he is unhappy with the way the Congressional Democrats are acting, and has considered switching parties.
For this reason I suggest President Bush have a meeting with Senator Lieberman, after first getting Mr, Cheney's agreement on the plan, and offer the Vice-presidency to him.
By making this political move the president would give the Republican Governor of Connecticut the opportunity to appoint a Republican Senator to replace Lieberman. This would restore the Republican majority in the Senate and stop the leftist steamroller that Pelosi is beginning in the House.
It would also stop the specious argument in the media of the Haliburton connection with this Administration.
A third reason to have Lieberman in the position of Vice-President is to eliminate the need to select a Vice-Presidential running mate for my favorite yet unannounced candidate. Senator Thompson.
The fourth and final reason for me is to stop the "steamroller" of the Media selection. A Democratic victory in 2008 by Hillary or Obama.
With Senator Thompson and Senator Lieberman on the 2008 Presidential ticket we would unite the North with Lieberman and the South with Thompson. I believe a winning ticket. What say You President Bush as Bill O'Reilly would say.

Not since World War II when we whole heartedly supported the efforts of great generals like Patton, Eisenhower and Marshall, have the Democrats let our troops win a war.
With the passage yesterday, by the Nancy Pelosi lead anti-victory Democrats, of a Bill mandating the withdrawal of troops from Iraq by the end of the year. They have now joined the infamous Democrats who made sure we lost or fought to a stalemate both warswe fought in the last 50 years,
Beginning with the Korean war when President Truman's intelligence units failed to notice or report to General MacArthur that over 100,000 Chinese troops were crossing the Yalu river. Then followed this debacle with the firing of MacArthur because he insisted on crossing the Yalu in pursuit of the Chinese when we had them on the run. Truman's not allowing our Navy and Air Force to Bomb enemy forces beyond the Yalu river, resulted in the massive defeat of American troops at the Chosin Reservoir. This resulted in the longest retreat in military history. A 120 mile retreat by the 7th Cavalry to rescued by Mac Artur lead Navy at Inchon. Had they not made it to Inchon in the below freezing cold, this could have been a massacre.
Truman tied the hands of his Generals behind their backs literally, because he wanted a "limited war", this resulted in a "cease fire" at the 38th parallel that still exists today.
One "A"-bomb on China before they had nuclear weapons would have brought victory and justified the over 50 thousand lives lost for the stalemate that exists today.
In Vietnam it was the Democratic president with the help of Congress that micromanaged the defeat by the North Vietnamese. We won every battle fought against the Communists , but once again Democrats wouldn't allow victory.
President Johnson and the infamous Defense Secretary, Mr. McNamara, "hamstrung" the military leaders in the field of battle by choosing the targets to be bombed in the Washington, not by those in Vietnam. Despite repeated requests by the Generals in Vietnam for permission to Bomb Hanoi, the Capitol City of North Vietnam. Johnson and McNamara denied their requests. This with the help of the leftist press and the leftwing radical street protesters led to our "withdrawal" and the DEFEAT!

The G8 meeting held in Germany this week is a perfect example of the hypocrisy of the World Politicians.
The irony of this environmental meeting is that it is being held in Germany. Home to one of the worlds greatest environmental disaster machines in modern times. Nazi Germany's war machine.
Chancellor Merkel of Germany is leading the charge to tackle what has been described by Germany's Sigmar Gabriel, as "the greatest challenge of this century". I guess he forgot about last years great challenge "world hunger", and the ever present challenge and threat of radical Islam.
Germany will not to be outdone by the members of G8 who have pledged to reduce their c02 emissions 20% by the year 2020. Ms. Merkel has pledged to reduce Germany's co2 emissions 40% by 2020.
The problem with Ms. Merkel's commitment is that at the same time the coal fired Energy industry leader "Vattenfall" has announced that by 2012 it will build a new coal fired power plant in East Germany. Like many other German power plants this plant will be fired using Polish Ligmite or brown coal. Brown coal is harvested from open pit mines,In Poland and South Africa, and is much more harmful to the air we breath than black coal used in the U.S.
Brown coal produces 1,153 grams of co2 for every kilowatt of energy it produces. Black coal produces 949 grams of co2, and nuclear power creates none.The new Vattenfall power plant will burn 2 million tons of Polish brown coal a year.
Germany decided in 2001 to not build anymore nuclear power plants, and they are scheduled to deactivate their present nuclear plants in the years ahead. This will place Ms. Merkel in the position of finding a way to reduce missions by turning her efforts to the people who use energy.
The energy industry producers have plans on the drawing board for 26 more lignite powered power plants in the coming years to replace the energy lost by closing the "nukes".
Despite the fact that today's meeting will spend all its time studying ways to stop the destruction of the worlds rain forests, and protecting endangered species. The leftist Greenpeace group is protesting outside the G8 meeting as seen in the picture below. They won't be satisfied until we revert to the "horse and buggy days"!
