THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS UNDERMINING ISRAELI IDF

While president Obama states that Israel does not have his permission to attack Iran's nuclear plants. Vice-President Biden said that Israel had a Right to do anything to defend itself.
It appears our present government is schizophrenic about Israel.
At the same time the Jerusalem Post is reporting that the USA Defense Department has once again ordered the Israeli's not to bid on a Swedish project that has been let out for bids to build a multi-purpose jet fighter.

Under pressure from the Pentagon, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has been forced to back out of a joint partnership with a Swedish aerospace company to compete in a multi-billion dollar tender to sell new multi-role fighter jets to the Indian Air Force, the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft.

The deal is estimated at a whopping $12 billion for over 120 new aircraft, and is being fought over by Lockheed Martin's F-16, Boeing's F-18/Hornet, Russia's MiG-35 and BAE's Eurofighter. IAI was asked by Saab, manufacturer of the Gripen, to jointly develop an advanced model which would compete for the deal.

The Defense Ministry ordered IAI to back out of the deal after the Pentagon expressed concern that American technology, used by Israel, would be integrated into the Gripen offered to the Indians.

"The stated concern was that Western technology in Israeli hands would make its way to the Indians," one Israeli official said.

What was strange with the American request was that Boeing and Lockheed Martin - the two largest US defense contractors - are also competing for the Indian deal. For this reason, Israeli officials said it was more likely that the Americans were concerned that if IAI competed for the deal with Saab, it would force the American companies to lower their prices.

A multi-role fighter, the Gripen is in service in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Hungary and South Africa. IAI was supposed to provide the electronic systems - radar, communications and electronic-warfare - for the plane.

This is not the first time that an Israeli company has been forced out of a deal due to concerns that competing with American companies would endanger Israeli-US relations.

Last summer, the MoD ordered Israel Military Industries (IMI) to back down from submitting a bid for a half-a-billion dollar deal to develop and manufacture a new tank for the Turkish Armed Forces.

At the time, Turkey had informed the MoD of its interest in developing a new tank and asked if IMI would want to submit a bid. SIBAT - the MOD's Foreign Defense Assistance and Defense Export Organization - decided not to submit an Israeli offer so not to compete with the Americans and endanger Israeli-US defense relations.

Apparently the Obama administration does not mind letting the Chinese automaker Geely Automobile Holdings bidding for General Motors Corp.'s Saab brand, a move that would boost the company's ability to compete overseas.

Former U.S. auto giant GM plans to sell off or wind down its Hummer, Saab and Saturn units. And in this case Obama fells it will help him to let a potential enemy have the rights to manufacture these cars. Thus, costing thousands of Americans their jobs!

Geely, based in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou, is among several big Chinese automakers viewed as likely candidates to acquire at least one of those brands. It has denied reports it is also bidding for Ford Motor Co.'s Swedish unit Volvo, although the reports persist.

But Israel, the only real friend the USA has in the Middle East is "ordered" by Obama's Defense Department not to bid on the Swedish plane!

HIS NOSE GROWS LONGER BY THE DAY

!

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” —Ronald Reagan

In children's folklore, the story of Pinocchio and Ghepetto the wood carver that made toys, is a story with a message for young children. Do not lie or your nose will grow and everyone will know you are a liar!

Well, we have our own Pinocchio in Barrack Hussein Obama with his stumbling explanation yesterday morning, that he or none of his cabinet level appointees had any contact with the Gov. of Illinois regarding his soon to be vacated U.S.Senate seat.
Even if you give Obama the benefit of the doubt, it begs credibility to believe that an incoming President has no concern about who will fill his seat in the Senate. Friend or foe makes no difference? Well, if you believe that! I have bridge between San Francisco and Oakland I would like to sell you!

To begin with Obama raised money and campaigned for Blagojevich in his successful run for Governor in 2002. Now he wants the American public to believe that he suddenly went into a cacoon of disinterest about who the Governor would appoint to fill his seat in the Senate. And "Blago" was the first Governor to endorse Obama when he announced he was acandidate for President!

Even in Obama's explanation of the "two different brands of politics" in America yesterday morning at his press conference he made the oddest assertion that Chicago style corruption was endemic in "state assemblies" and "city councils" across the nation. So this makes it acceptable?

Come now......isn't this the same type of horrid corruption that Nancyrexia, Harry Dirtdog, Rahm Ratfinger and the ilk were supposed to eliminate? Where is the CHANGE we can all believe in?
Didn't they say they needed a new government that was responsive to the people, transparent...one that would restore honor to DC? Respect in the world??? (and **gasp***our children??)

I guess the bottom line is, say anything to get in power...........

Even the Los Angeles Times, that was one of the first Newspapers to endorse Obama for President, had this to say: "It took three tries in as many days for President-elect Barack Obama to roll out a strategy for defusing the crisis over Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich's alleged attempt to put his old Senate seat up for sale." More: "Obama's evolving response was the first test of his team's capacity to cope with a fast-moving political scandal while staying true to his promise to run a transparent shop with a minimum of secrets."

What is next?

EU IS TRYING TO PLAY HARD BALL WITH U,S,

EU THROWS A TEMPER TANTRUM!

There are presently 27 Nations( they call them States to remove the appearance of sovereignty) that are members of the European Union. A union without a Constitution, because the Irish did not want to abrogate some of their sovereignty to this amorphous body in Brussels.

Of the 27 members, 11 nations that joined the Eu are from what was called Eastern Europe. Many were previously Communist countries. The USA, Japan, Singapore and Panama have refused to grant blanket immunity to citizens of these Countries that wish to visit the USA and the three other Nations.

Most of the EU's 27 members have visa-waiver deals with the US, allowing their citizens to enter the country for short visits without visas. However all but one of the 12 states that joined the EU from 2004 to 2007, most of which are in Eastern Europe, have no such deals. Neither does Greece, which has been an EU member since 1981. This is because of Our concern for terrorists entering our Country as tourists. The USA has in place a computer generated questionnaire that prospective passengers to this Country must complete no later than two days before their air travel.

Not unlike all rapidly growing Bureaucracies, the EU is slow in their process of obtaining visa immunity for new member states. Thus, Estonia and Latvia are taking a detour around Brussels in the quest for visa-free travel.
Impatient at the slow pace of European Union negotiations, two Baltic states are setting up their own deals with the US to provide visa-free travel for their citizens, despite protests from Brussels.
Estonia signed a bilateral visa-waiver deal with the US on Wednesday morning, with Latvia due to follow suit later this week.

This infuriated the proud "princes" of the Eu, who already have a "black eye" over the "no vote" in Ireland last month. So they are resorting to desperate measures to keep the USA from making separate deals with "member States".

The move by the Eastern European states is creating tension within the European Commission, which wants to be the single negotiator with the US on visa-waiver deals. The Commission, which has already tried to put pressure on the US to give citizens of all EU states visa-free travel, feels bilateral deals infringe on its authority over visa and border policy. It is also worried that such deals might allow the US to pressure individual countries to give US authorities additional data on air passengers on top of that stipulated in an existing US-EU agreement.
They also are afraid that bilateral deals infringe on its authority over visa and border policy. It is also worried that such deals might undermine their supreme authority over what once were sovereign Countries, in my opinion!

As an act of retaliation the EU announced that as of 2009;
In a report released Thursday on visa requirements in breach of the principle of reciprocity,"the European Commission is proposing "retaliatory measures" that would force US diplomats to secure visas before entering EU countries". source:jtw@Reuters

According to Diplomatic law established by the Vienna Conventions, Diplomats are include in International law. As such they are exempt from obtaining a visa to travel to or within the Country they are assigned to by their government.

Formally, diplomatic immunity may be limited to officials accredited to a host country, or traveling to or from their host country. In practice, many countries may effectively recognize diplomatic immunity for those traveling on diplomatic passports.

If the EU goes through with their obvious violation of International law. I believe the USA should make the diplomats from he EU pay their debts and traffic fines that they incurred in the USA.

The bulk of diplomatic debt lies in the rental of office space and living quarters. Individual debts can range from a few thousand dollars to $1 million in back rent. A group of diplomats and the office space in which they work are referred to as a mission. Creditors cannot sue missions individually to collect money they owe. Landlords and creditors have found that the only thing they can do is contact a city agency to see if they can try to get some money back. They cannot enter the offices or apartments of diplomats to evict them because the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act says that "the property in the United States of a foreign state shall be immune from attachment, arrest and execution" (28 U.S.C.A. § 1609).

Maybe it is time to revisit this policy if the EU wants to play "hard ball" with us!
