JUSTICE CHICAGO STYLE!!!

Friday, June 05, 2009

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” —Ronald Reagan

When you look at the decisions that have been made by the present Attorney General you might get the impression, as I do, that justice is being administered the way they did it in the Capone Days in Chicago.
Beginning in the last days of the the Clinton administration Asst.AG Holder was involved with Clinton's last-minute pardon of fugitive felon and Democratic contributor Marc Rich.
Holder was also involved in Clinton's decision to reduce the criminal sentences of 16 members of the Boricua Popular Army, an organization that has been categorized by the FBI as a terrorist organization. The clemency request was initially opposed in 1996 by U.S. Pardons Attorney Margaret Love.
In July 1999, Holder recommended clemency to President Clinton with a report from then U.S. Pardons Attorney Roger Adams that neither supported nor opposed clemency. A month later, the clemency was granted by Clinton. According to The Hartford Courant, the clemency was unusual because it was opposed by the FBI, the federal prosecutor and the victims.
In the aftermath of the murder of the late term abortionist Dr. Tiller, Mr. Holder dispatched U.S. Marshals to guard some Abortion clinics.
However, when an Army recruiter was murdered and a Naval recruiter was severely wounded in a recruiting location. There were no Marshalls stationed outside recruiting depots, nor was there condemnation of the murder forthcoming from the AG's office.

Since being appointed Attorney General, Mr.Holder has made many decisions that indicate to me that he is inclined to view American justice through the prism of race.
He called the United States "a nation of cowards" during his speech to honor Black history month!

Then "two weeks ago, in a highly unusual move, Holder dismissed default judgments his department had won against two of three defendants charged with violating the Voting Rights Act. On Nov. 4, 2008, a billy club-wielding militant in military-style boots and beret stood outside a Philly polling location with a similarly dressed partner. Citizen journalists from the Pennsylvania-based blog Election Journal captured the menacing duo on video. One of the watchdogs observed: "I think it might be a little intimidating that you have a stick in your hand."
The defendants were black, and I doubt that if they were white the decision would have been the same.Default judgements have never been dismissed before, to my knowledge!

"On the heels of this voter intimidation protection plan, the Obama Justice Department issued another decision that undermines electoral integrity -- but bolsters Democratic voter drives. The department this week denied the state of Georgia the ability to enact strict citizenship voter verification rules previously approved by two federal courts. As Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel explained: "DOJ has thrown open the door for activist organizations such as ACORN to register non-citizens to vote in Georgia's elections, and the state has no ability to verify an applicant's citizenship status or whether the individual even exists."

On top of all that, Holder recently politicized the legal review process involving the contentious issue of D.C. voting rights. After careful study, the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) issued an opinion that a House bill on the matter was unconstitutional. Holder, who supports D.C. voting rights along with Obama, overrode his staff lawyers' ruling -- and simply ordered up an alternative opinion that fit the White House agenda".SOURCE:MICHELLE MALKIN

The office of Attorney General was established by Congress by the Judiciary Act of 1789. The original duties of this officer were "to prosecute and conduct all suits in the Supreme Court in which the United States shall be concerned, and to give his advice and opinion upon questions of law when required by the President of the United States, or when requested by the heads of any of the departments. Source:Wikapedia

The "Rule of Law" means clear, generally applicable laws by which individuals can organize their affairs and which are applicable consistently, without respect to status. Source: American Heritage.com
Thus,by favoring the union over the creditors with superior rights. Obama violated a fundamental principle of our Constitutional government, and the Attorney General should know that and enforce the law by advising Obama that he was violating the law. But politics take precedence in the Obama administration!

As such, Holder should have advised president Obama that his firing of the CEO of General Motors and assuming over 60% percent ownership of General Motors was no within his power as defined in the United States Constitution. But since he was appointed by Obama and could be fired at any point by Obama, I understand how he might have been reticent to give that opinion.

Apparently, Lady Justice is now protected by an Attorney General who has a blind eye to violations of the Constitution, and a security force armed with billy clubs and lawyers who serve the cause of protecting the re-election of Barack Obama over the rule of law

HAS OBAMA PERFORMED AN IMPEACHABLE ACT?

Monday, June 01, 2009

It wasn't long ago that this great Country of ours had a Legislative, Executive and Judicial branch that controlled the way we lived. The Legislative branch made the laws, declared war when needed, and appropriated the money needed to run the government.
The Executive branch was the Commander in Chief of the Military and had veto power over any Bills that the Legislative body sent to his desk, and the Judicial branch was lead by the Supreme Court. This body was the Court of last resort for redress of individuals and groups who felt they were either cheated by the other two branches of government or thought a law that was in force was wrong and harmful.
This oversimplifies the duties and powers of the three branches of government, but it illustrates that OUR Country was ruled in an orderly and lawful manner up until now!

The Obama administration is making choices that not only favor some and hurt others. President Obama is making decisions that, in my opinion and more learned scholars than I, think are exceeding the powers granted to the president by the Constitution!
It appears that the politically well connected tend to get the favors.( aka:Unions and Acornto mention a few).
Banks were forced to take government money due not slightly to having to loan money for housing to minority groups without their ability to pay the loan payments, as crafted by the likes of Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd. Now they are blocked from paying the money back.
In the meantime, the banks must direct funds where the government wants them to go.This is a direct assault on the Free Enterprise Private Banking industry!

Chrysler and General Motors bond holders had their property(their investment in $) redistributed to the United Auto Worker retiree health-care fund (how the retirees help the companies make cars profitably is left unclear). Stimulus funds go to state governments with lavish contracts with public employee unions. And out of every dollar that goes to a union, a certain number of cents make their way back to the Democratic Party.
And now it appears that Obama's Auto Bankruptcy CZARS are selecting Chrysler dealerships for closure based upon whether they were political supporters of the Democrats or Republicans. A review of the dealerships that have already been notified that they will not have their contracts renewed shows that over 95% of those selected supported Republicans!

And now, without the prior approval of Congress or any legislation authorizing the act, President Obama plans to announce on today(Monday) that the federal government will take a 60-percent ownership stake in General Motors as part of a bankruptcy and reorganization plan for the company.

The White House on Sunday night announced that the plan will require the federal government to provide another $30 billion of taxpayer money to General Motors, on top of the $20 billion in aid the federal government already has given the company.
Source: CNSNews.com

In December, Congress failed to pass legislation authorizing a federal bailout of the auto industry. Analysts James Gattuso and Andrew Grossman of the Heritage Foundation argued at the time that this was “legally wrong” because Bush took the money from the $700-billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) that was authorized specifically for purchasing assets from “financial institutions” such as banks, savings and loans, credit unions, brokerages and insurance companies. The Heritage analysts argued that auto manufacturers are not “financial institutions” as envisioned by Congress under the law.

Robert Reich, who served as labor secretary under President Clinton, argued that Bush’s move was unconstitutional because of the limits the Constitution places on the president’s power to spend public money. Specifically, the Constitution says, “No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law.” Why is Mr. Reich so silent now that Obama is compounding Bush's misappropriation of Power?

When asked, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, where Obama derived the legal authority to do what he was doing. Hoyer candidly said he did not know.

“The administration clearly believes it does have the authority to use some of the remaining TARP funds for the automobile industry,” Hoyer told Fred Lucas of CNSNews.com.

“I don't know, technically, but my own view is that if it is perceived they don't have that authority and it is perceived by the Congress they need to have that authority, the Congress would probably be willing to give that authority. But I don't know technically the answer to that question.” I know the answer! The Senate could not muster the 60 votes necessary to stop a filibuster that would kill any authorization giving extra-Constitutional powers to Obama, and Hoyer knows that!
Undoubtedly the House of Representative with so many Liberal members who are in the pockets of the Union movement would pass the authorization, but as I said. It would fail in the Senate. So here we are with a president who apparently thinks he is above the Constitution taking the right away from those who should have them, the bondholders, and taking them for himself and his Union supporters. Can anything be more brazen than this? Only time will tell!

WHEN WILL SOMONE IN THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA GROW A SPINE?

A wise signer of the Constitution once said: "A strong an stable rule of law and governance, and a history of paying our debts. Fosters growth and expansion which keeps foreign and domestic investors investing their money in the public coffers".

Unfortunately, the monetary base of this once great country has increased by 13 times under the last year of the Bush administration, but exponentially since Obama took office. This is the highest in our history, and I predict that prime interest rates will become double digit in three to four years. Reminiscent of the Carter years, only worse.Yet there is no clarion cry, not even a peep from the Obama adoring media!

No where can you read or see any warning news that the Obama administration is spending to much money that is the result not of tax income, but by keeping the Treasury printing presses on full bore.

Not only is Obama spending billions that are supposed to be for shovel ready projects, but are in reality to pay back groups that put him in the Oval Office.
His handling of the Chrysler debacle is an example of Obama's pragmatic approach to the rule of law and our Constitution.

Congress gave President Bush the Sarbanes/Oxley law in 2002. This law has A provision called Section 363(b) that relates to the bankruptcy laws, that has allowed Obama to make an end run around Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy laws. He used this to rig the Chrysler "fast track" bankruptcy IN favor of the auto workers union despite the fact that normal chapter 11 dictates that secured lenders are entitled to first consideration.
Instead Obama gave the unsecured creditors, the union,!0 billion dollars and almost half of the new Chrysler stock.
This violation of a fundamental principle of our Constitutional government gives less than a quarter of a dollar on a dollar invested by teachers' pension funds and other retirement funds. The UAW, while it has made some sacrifices in wages and benefits, will be given more than half ownership of the firm(New Chrysler) - a far larger share than it deserves under Chapter 11.

This lawness began with "The Emergency Economic stabilization Act". This law gave the constitutional powers reserved to the legislative branch to the executive branch. This resultED in TARP, and the avalanche that followed that effectively became a "slush fund" to pay off Obama's friends and allies!

This type of bankruptcy tramples on the constitutional provisions that have governed bankruptcy for decades, and will have a devastating effect on our economy if allowed by Congress, that can stop it, because this "new" bankruptcy deprecates the investor who would buy stocks and bonds normally. But if it is possible to give superior rights to unions or other unsecured participants. What will be the incentive to invest in companies? The lending and capital investment all across our economy will be adversely affected if the Congress allows Obama to strike down contractual rights!

And it is not over by any means. The Gm deadline is June 1st. They cannot possibly make the drastic changes to their administrative and union problems in a few days. I believe they will be handled by the Obama administration the same way Chrysler was . If Congress doesn't stop the trampling of Constitutional rights of Contracts. The Federal government will first take over GM, and then a rapid bankruptcy with secured investors getting 28 cents on a dollar invested, and the UAW will receive $10 billion of the tax payers money besides getting up to 39% OF THE "New GM" for their unsecured 20 billion. IT APPEARS THE CHRYSLER/FIAT DEAL WILL FAIL

The intrigue surrounding the "rapid" bankruptcy of Chrysler and the pending financial disaster of General Motors on June 1st appears to be never ending.
A story you will not read in the New York Times or see on the main scream media is the progress in Germany and Italy between Opel, Fiat and the German government regarding both Chrysler and GM.

Though the decision on who gets Opel will be up to GM, or the U.S. goverment, the German government will also play a big role because it would likely have to supply billions of euros in financing guarantees to the eventual buyer.

This has made the Opel tender a political hot potato as the German chancellor is just four months away from a general election and must decide how to save jobs and tax-payers money without losing votes.

Fiat chief executive Sergio Marchionne is looking to create the world's second biggest carmaker, after Japan's Toyota, by adding the assets of Opel and Vauxhall to Fiat's own brands and those of US carmaker Chrysler. This information will not sit well with our government and the Chrysler union.

German media reports, however, said the Fiat plan would involve total job cuts of about 18,000, compared to about 10,000 each for Magna and RHJ. Fiat is also seeking some 7 billion euros ($9.7 billion) in government support, about 2 billion more than Magna and RHJ require.
My question is will Obama offer the same amount of money or more if Fiat goes through with the deal?

Addressing growing media speculation, German government spokesman Thomas Steg called for calm, saying that any premature speculation on a political comment on Opel could affect a government negotiating position. He said the government would be looking at three key factors: a deal for carmaker Opel that secures the most jobs and sites in Germany and does not burden taxpayers.

Steg went on to say that until the government had met with industry experts and the federal state representatives no preference could be drawn.

Steg also reiterated that the primary decision lay with the GM/US, which still has to announce whether it is selling GM Europe, thus offering up Opel( a company that is part pf GM) for tender.

The US government has given GM until June 1 to restructure its operations and prove it can be viable without state aid, or face probable bankruptcy. That deadline is fast approaching!

Marchionne said we want to build a real European car company that will achieve worldwide success. We want to combine Fiat, Opel and Chrysler. If we achieve this we will be the second biggest car company behind Toyota and it will provide jobs not just in Germany, but around the world.
I wonder how this will sit with the Union at the new Chrysler if the deal does go through? And where is the U.S.news on the potential deal between Gm and Fiat for Opel?

HOW OBAMA PLANS TO REPLACE LOST JOBS!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” —Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan was right on and almost a prophet when his statement is applied to what Obama is doing to the economy and the free enterprise private sector these days.
His regulation of the banks and auto industry, and today his announcement that he will look into the salaries of financial executives9banks), show his determination to bury the private sector with strangling regulations, and take over by the government of one after another private sector businesses.

In light of his move toward replacing the private sector executives in the industries that he has already effectively taken over, with government bureaucrats. He is sort of keeping his campaign promise to create millions of jobs. The only hitch is that the job growth will be in the Federal government bureaucracy not the private sector.
Even as I write this post the news is reporting that General Motors stock has dropped to as low as a dollar today, and their is a talk of closing over 150 GM distributors that will put on the street without jobs close to a hundred thousand people!

"At a time when the official unemployment rate is nearing double digits, and 6.35 million people are receiving unemployment benefits, the U.S. government is on a hiring binge.

Executive branch employment - 1.98 million in 2009, excluding the Postal Service and the Defense Department - is set to increase by 15.6 percent for the 2010 fiscal year. Most of that is thanks to the Census Bureau hiring 102,000 temporary workers, but not counting them still yields a net increase of 2 percent in one year.

There's little belt-tightening in evidence in Washington, D.C.: Counting benefits, the average pay per federal worker will leap from $72,800 in 2008 to $75,419 next year.

Meanwhile, according to Forbes' layoff tracker, there have been 558,087 layoffs since November 2008 at large public companies; even local school districts aren't immune. That's just a sliver of the total unemployed, which government data estimate to be 8.6 percent of the workforce, or an alternate method of reckoning that counts discouraged workers puts at 20 percent.

Some of the Feds' hiring increases have been stunning. If you look at the four-year period from 2006 to 2010, the number of Homeland Security employees has grown by 22 percent, the Justice Department has increased by 15 percent, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission can claim 25 percent more employees" source: The American Thinker

If anyone has any doubts about president Obama's socialist tendencies. These facts should open their eyes. It is my opinion that Obama intends to destroy as much of the private sector with punitive regulations like taxes, cap and trade costs and card check that will force many small business out of the private sector.
His "marriage" with big labor unions is quite evident from his dealings with the Chrysler bail-out and rapid bankruptcy and his response to SEIU request to put pressure on the California Governor and legislature to restore cuts in pay for SEIU employees approved by the Democrat controlled legislature to avoid imminent bankruptcy for California!

Will the Silent Majority wake up before it is too late?

WHERE IS THE HOPE AND CHANGE FOR THE REST OF US?

Saturday, April 04, 2009

"I want an American character, that the powers of Europe may be convinced we act for ourselves and not for others; this, in my judgment, is the only way to be respected abroad and happy at home." --George Washington.

While Obama claims that his administration brings "hope and change" to the American people. And masquerades his "spendulus package" as a stimulus effort, much of the billions in taxpayers money is rapidly finding it's way to European banks that are affiliated or hold paper from American financial institutions.

The only people whom are satisfied with the socialist tack that Obama has our ship of state headed toward are the "fat cat" financial manipulators who operate on the World stage, the academics who are the dedicated radicals of the 60's, Unions, Including the bloated teachers Union and the people who already are part of the government apparatchik.
The rest of us taxpaying middle class "fly over", gun owning, bible readers are left out in the cold holding the bag for the massive debt that we alone cannot pay. This estimated 10 trillion dollar debt will fall upon our children and grandchildren to be sure!

Now that the government has its hooks in GM, it can force the company to produce cars that meet the excessive environmental and energy standards of the EPA. In other words, cars that no one will buy when gas isn't $4 a gallon, and the cars cost 50 to $75,000.

Obama claimed, "The United States government has no interest or intention of running GM," but that is exactly what he has in mind. What else would the new car czar (read: kommissar) -- the Director of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers -- be empowered to do? In fact, Obama wants the federal government to "stand behind" warranties for GM and Chrysler, which even Democrats in Congress say he needs their approval to do.Will we have to call the White House to get a Gm car serviced or return a "lemon"?

As for Chrysler, why, of all companies, was Fiat chosen to partner with the smallest of the so-called Big Three automakers? Fiat is famous for making lightweight, fuel-efficient vehicles that are all the rage in Europe but which don't sell that well in America. If the design sense that made Fiat famous abroad and feckless here at home is applied to Chrysler, then the company might better be allowed to slip into bankruptcy -- something that could happen anyway if it doesn't craft a deal with the cardboard car company from Italy in 30 days. And from my vantage point, Fiat would be foolish to buy Chrysler!

Finally, as an April Fool's Day joke, Car and Driver magazine ran an article claiming that Obama had ordered Chevrolet and Dodge out of NASCAR if they were to continue to receive bailout funds. Naturally, it caused quite a stir because it was so believable. We can only imagine the White House staff crying, "Who leaked our plans?"SOURCE: PATRIOT POST

Despite the Media love affair over Michelle Obama's stunning clothes,(SHE CHANGES OUTFITS THREE TIMES A DAY WHILE IN FRANCE) and her being compared with Jackie Kennedy is patently absurd. The swoon over the POTUS and First Lady ignores the fact that their history illustrates that they both detest the way the USA has operated under the free enterprise system for years. The words still ring in my head that Michelle Obama said when she learned Barack was nominated to be the Democratic representative for President.
She said "this was the first time in her life that she was proud of America", and the speeches Obama gave in France were as deprecating as any man since Benedict Arnold turned on America and went over to the British. No American President should apologize to the Eu. Without the USA they would all be speaking German or Russian!

While the media cheers the new clothes that POTUS has put on
( welfare state clothing), the rest of us, over 50 million believe he has no clothes on that we can see will help us!

GM BOND HOLDERS SLATED TO GET SHORT END OF THE STICK!

Thursday, April 02, 2009

There are things behind the "closed" curtain of deception in the refusal of President Obama denying to lend more billions to GM. I do not disagree that it is correct to not throw good taxpayers money after bad, because the structure of the Union contracts is such that no matter how much money they get they will eventually be in receivership!
The problem I have is the devious way Obama and his "mob" are going about the forced bankruptcy. They will use the Bankruptcy code to break up the company.
It would be split into "good" parts and "bad" parts,(govt. language) with the stronger brands – such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC – sold to a new GM, financed by the government. This could potentially be completed under section 363 of the US bankruptcy code – which allows a judge to approve the sale of assets over creditor objections in an emergency. The emergncy that Obama and his Cabinet with the aid of an bias press has been calling the 2nd "great depression".

Rather than let the company just go bankrupt the Obama plan will set up a "puppet" executive board and management staff that will be marionette's for Obama, and the bond holders and stock holders will be left out in th cold.
This is the beginning of the seizing of private assets held by the taxpaying public and will not stop here I am afraid. Total government control of our main industries including the banks is in the future, I am a sure.

GM faces a challenge which proved tortuously difficult for Mr Wagoner – agreeing concessions from unions and bondholders.

The company has liabilities of $27.5bn in debt held by bondholders, and $20.4bn in obligations to a union-run health care fund. Bondholders have so far resisted GM proposals to write off two-thirds of their debt in exchange for equity, while the United Auto Workers (UAW) rejected plans for health care contributions to be paid in the company's stock, which has tanked over fears for GM's survival.

The UAW and bondholders have entered talks with the belief that GM was too big to be allowed to fail and that restructuring via Chapter 11 was not an option.

However, President Obama's comments appear to have changed that.

By confirming that the government will guarantee customer warranties, the major concern GM had about bankruptcy has been removed.

For creditors, bankruptcy raises the risk of serious losses in court. Despite the involvement of the president also meaning the complete collapse of GM is highly unlikely, some bonds in the company fell to record lows on Wednesday amid the heightened threat of bankruptcy.

The head of the UAW is the Ron Gettelfinger, who has won significant benefits for workers in the industry including generous wages, pensions, holidays and cost-of-living allowances.

However, Mr Gettelfinger, a notoriously rough negotiator, would have to agree to
far greater concessions at GM than those he struck at Ford – which included annual savings of $500m from cuts in bonuses, overtime pay and financial support for children's education – even before the health care fund for retires and workers is addressed.

In the bankruptcy court, the new GM could potentially end its present benefit schemes – leaving staff with smaller, leaner plans – if it can prove their expense impedes the company's future survival. It will not be hard as the facts already support that charge.

However, despite the potential benefits for GM of bankruptcy, it would likely be a messy process for President Obama and the company. The backing of some creditors would be needed, while any losses endured by the unions risks upsetting a key supporter base of the Democrat administration. My hope is that Bond and stock holders will raise loud objections to this devious government take over. They are being treated as chaff!

Industry experts in the US are questioning whether the threat of bankruptcy is realistic or simply a method designed to increase the urgency of negotiations,

Senator Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat, said: "What they're trying to do is signal to the bondholders that 'Folks, you've got to come to the table'." He is the Senator who represents the Michigan voters!

Whatever the outcome for GM's restructuring – and Chrysler's alliance – the increased government involvement in the companies threatens long-term problems.

President Obama wants the car makers to pursue more environmentally friendly vehicles and return to profitability as quickly as possible. But these issues could prove contradictory. Sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and trucks dominate GM's best-sellers list, while the company's electric car, the Volt, was deemed "too expensive" by the US Treasury's own report. And from my point of view are dangerous to drive on the highways as semi-trucks get larger and larger!

The future of the US industry faces serious questions, but we won't have to wait long for many of the answers. And the end result is the Obama Administration is involved in a serious abuse of power with the obsequious Congress and a fawning Press aiding and abetting it!

OBAMA DUMPS WAGONER LEAVES UNION BE!

Monday, March 30, 2009

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” —Ronald Reagan

IN A STUNNING ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY, President and CEO of General Motors was forced to resign after his meeting with the Obama "stooges" who told him Friday that he had to go!

This action is nothing but a pay off of a $50 million dollar debt to the Unions, who still have not agreed to any cuts in salary and benefits at the Chrysler Corporation as mandated by the multi-million dollar deal that the Congress and Obama stipulated in the money bail out.

The immediate reaction from the Governor of Michigan was that Wagoner was a "scape goat"! I believe he is the sacrificial lamb to the Unions as you will see from the following report of what he did to try and save Gm.

"Governor Jennifer Granholm noted that Wagoner has worked for GM for more than 30 years and was trying to turn the company around. She said that Wagoner agreed to step aside for the good of the carmaker and its workers.

By all accounts, Wagoner made progress in fixing GM. While CEO, he cut its U.S. work force from 177,000 to roughly 92,000 today.

Wagoner also closed factories; shed the unprofitable Oldsmobile brand; globalized GM’s engineering, manufacturing and design to save billions; and led a resurgence in quality and performance of its long-neglected cars. In 2007, the company reached a landmark agreement with the United Auto Workers that shifted massive retiree health care costs to a union-run trust and ushered in a $14-per-hour wage for new hires, about half that of a current laborer".

For this he was told by the Federal Government to resign! Once again the Socialist leaning administration of Barrack Obama has reached it's bloody hands around the neck of private enterprise and strangled the lively hood of another hard working executive.

As Obama continues his onslaught on the private sector this is another demonstration that Unions will get a free pass when ever the "spendulus" Obama administration can find an executive to demonize.

In announcing today, Obama said he will deny more funding to Gm and Chrysler unless they sufficiently restructure the company, but as you can see from this quote from The New Media Journal.com. He says not one disparaging word about the Unions failure to concede anything to help save their jobs!
". In an interview with CBS' "Face the Nation" broadcast Sunday, Obama said the companies must do more to receive additional financial aid from the government. "We think we can have a successful US auto industry. But it's got to be one that's realistically designed to weather this storm and to emerge -- at the other end -- much more lean, mean and competitive than it currently is," Obama said. Instead, the administration has decided to give Chrysler 30 days to work out a deal with Fiat and GM 60 days to come up with a new restructuring plan. Both companies will be provided with "some working capital" during those time periods. A senior official said, "bankruptcy is not the goal," although there may be a "role for a court supervised process".

Is there any wonder why companies are moving off shore with the strangle hold Unions have on the products USA companies try to sell the world? The Germans, Japanese, Swedish all make better, longer lasting cars at a price the average American buy, because they do not allow unions to add thousands of dollars to the price of the cars for inflated, bloated benefits and retirement.

And if Americans do not speak out loudly against this tyranny we will find ourselves in an economic hole that even our grand children cannot dig them selves out of!
GOD help Us!

OBAMA APPEARS TO BE READY TO BAIL OUT BIG3 AND FOREIGN AUTO

Friday, March 27, 2009

One of the stories you will not read in the MSP or hear on the TV is the substance of the Video conference between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Obama this last Thursday.
Der Spiegel Internet has a report today of the subject of that conversation, and it will be a surprise to those who need to not believe that Obama is spending this Country into a bottomless pit.
If ever there was a doubt about Obama's International, One World leanings this story should help allay any doubts.

"When Chancellor Merkel and President Obama spoke by video conference on Thursday there was plenty to talk about: NATO, the G-20 summit and the ongoing crisis at General Motors and Opel. The two leaders agreed to consult on how to rescue the US car maker and its German subsidiary.
The two also agreed to "close consultation" on the future of the embattled US automaker General Motors and its German subsidiary Opel, according to German government spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm".

Obama's auto task force has been working at solving the crisis at the "big three" car makers, GM, Ford and Chrysler. General Motors and Chrysler have received $17.4 billion (€12.9 billion) in federal loans since December and are seeking billions more to stay afloat.

"The German government is waiting to see what the outcome of the US auto bailout plan will be before making a decision on whether to support Opel. German Economics Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg was in the United States recently to sound out the White House and GM on how Opel could survive, possibly by cutting ties with its US parent company( as did Mercedes fom Chrysler). Opel, which has some 26,000 employees in Germany, is looking for some €3.3 billion ($4.2 billion) in loans or guarantees from the German government to stay in business. The company's best chance for survival would be if an investor stepped in, but so far none seems to have come forward.

Further investigation into what is going on in Germany's dilemma with the Auto industry, reveals that the German government has instituted a program called "scrapping bonus" for new automobile purchases by people who have cars over nine years old.
"Launched in January, this scheme has become the single most popular initiative taken by Chancellor Angela Merkel's strange-bedfellows coalition of the conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) and the left-leaning Social Democrats (SPD). For weeks, the atmosphere at German car dealers has been like a county fair. This car bonanza was supposed to stop soon. The government had allotted €1.5 billion ($2.03 billion US) for the stimulus program -- enough to provide €2,500 bonus payments for around 600,000 trade-ins. Hundreds of thousands have already applied and the funds were only expected to last several more weeks at best. On Wednesday, though, Merkel and her vice chancellor, Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD), agreed to extend the program with another billion euros, so that the boom can continue".

The problem with all this Federal spending is that Germans are buying cars made in Asia more than German cars. Just as here in America the Germans prefer the fuel efficient cars that last longer over their own!

"Leading the pack is Daihatsu (where sales have increased by 230.5 percent), followed by Hyundai (an increase of 198.8 percent) and Lada (sales are up by 175.8 percent). The first German company to even appear on the list of top sellers is General Motors subsidiary Opel, which comes in at eighth place. It's hardly surprising, then, that Daimler chief Dieter Zetsche is rejecting calls to extend the scrapping bonus. It's difficult for him to look on as the German government provides what he describes as financial aid to his Asian competitors".
Here at home, behind all the rhetoric and smoke screen, the only thing Obama wants to accomplish is to satisfy the Union demands. After all they provided 50 million dollars to his campaign!
It is time for all concerned Americans to shout loudly "We have had enough of your profligate spending to satisfy your voters. Now is the time to save America for all Americans!
